The Worthwhile The Mary and Brack Museum of Art
The Mary and Brack Museum of Art is located at Northwestern University in Evanston,
Illinois. It was founded in 1980 by Chicago art collectors Mary and Leigh B. Block. The name of the Museum came from it.
At first, the museum imitated the German art gallery without a fixed collection, mainly with a series of irregular temporary exhibitions. Later, because Northwest University placed many works of art in the gallery, the gallery began to collect some fixed collections for exhibition purposes. Mary and Brack Art Museum contributed to the art research and development of Northwest University, and also added color to the community culture. At present, there are more than 5000 items in the museum, including 19th century prints, paintings, sculptures, paper art, and a large number of photographs. They are famous for their sculpture gardens outside the museum. Most of their collections are mainly works by local artists in Chicago.
Apart from the permanent collection in the museum, one third of the area of the gallery is used for temporary exhibitions and itinerant exhibitions. The gallery is open from 10:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday and weekend, from 10:00 to 20:00 on Wednesday and Friday, and closed on Monday.
