Slater factory in potucket is the first hydro textile factory in North America. Samuel Slater was born in England in 1768 and moved to the United States in 1789. At that time, British law prohibited the details of textile mills exported abroad, so he remembered these plans instead. With the support of his plan and his partner, Moses brown, Samuel established the factory in 1793 and began the framework of the industrial revolution. Today, the mill will take you back to the past. It shows the articles used by the workers and some exhibits about the mill life, including the use of child labor. Other buildings visited on the same property are the Wilkinson mill and the sivanas brown house.
