Summer house:elm
Elm is one of the other super summer homes in Newport, built by the Berwind family in 1898. However, elms may not be as gorgeous as other elms because they cost only $1.4 million to build. Although the interior decoration is still luxurious, the focus here is the classical Renaissance Garden, with marble and bronze sculptures, marble pavilions, sunken gardens and fountains on the terrace. It took seven years to create the garden; the building began in 1907, six years after the building was completed. Elms are open to the public today.
