Do you know Niles tower?

Location: Home > U.S.Wiki > Illinois > Niles tower

Niles tower is located in Niles, Illinois, near Chicago. It was built in 1934 and is part of the suburban leisure park in Chicago. The park was built by Robert ILG, an industrialist, for the company's employees.

From the name, Niles tower is far less recognized than the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The tower is a replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but its height is only half of that of Pisa tower. It has been rated by many media as one of the world's landmarks. As Pisa is the sister city of Niles, it is speculated that the tower was built to celebrate its 600th birthday. In fact, a more likely explanation is that the inclined tower is to solve the water supply problem of the swimming pool in the leisure park. In addition, unlike the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Leaning Tower of Niles was inclined when it was built. There is a special sign on the front of the tower, indicating the comparison parameters with the Leaning Tower of Pisa. However, Niles tower still attracts many tourists who do not want to go to Italy to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
