Island Beach State Park, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of Barnegart, is one of the few undeveloped barrier beaches. The Park covers an area of 1,214 hectares and is equipped with a variety of educational programs, hiking trails and swimming spots, as well as excellent locations for viewing birds such as fish hawks.
