The important American Clock Watch Museum

Located in Bristol, Connecticut, American Clock Watch Museum is one of the few museums dedicated to chronometry in the United States. It shows people the history of horology, science, timers and other related materials and objects. Located in the historical center of American watchmaking, the museum is the most prominent watch and clock Museum in the U.S., especially in the field of industrial watch making in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

American Clock Watch Museum, founded in 1952, was originally called the Bristol watch Museum and moved to its present location the following year. At the same time, the museum is an independent educational institution with few professional staff and relies on volunteers to provide human and material support. The museum's collection includes clocks and watches from different times and countries, with the focus on American watches and clocks. Much of the exhibition is devoted to Eli Terry and his successors and imitators. Eli Terry is a famous inventor and manufacturer of clocks in Connecticut. He is regarded as the founder of the most powerful national watch industry in the world. At the beginning of the 19th century, Terry pioneered the technology of mass production of watches and clocks. At the same time, the manufacturing of watches and clocks in Connecticut and the firearms manufacturing in the United States set off a frenzy of industrial revolution.
